Position: Chemical Engineer and Photo Voltaic Engineer
Responsibilities:
The lead chemical process engineer will be responsible for nano silicon process technology development with applications in solar technology and scaling it from concept to volume production using scientific and engineering principles. He/she will also participate in identifying opportunities for new products and applications, assisting in special projects in all phases of development from concept through launch working in co-ordination with a cross functional team. The engineer will plan experiment strategy, collect data, conduct analysis of results, and create reports for management review. He/she will effectively utilize qualified internal and external labs and resources as needed to make progress. A portion of time will include maintaining some laboratory operations, documenting technical information and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ideal candidate will work with minimal supervision, and have strong project management, problem solving skills and background in chemical process development and scale up preferably in solar or related industries. Experience with chemical handling and delivery systems would be a plus. He/she should be able to proficiently use statistical methods (SPC, DOE, etc.), chemical and materials test/ analysis techniques as required for the technology development. Other desirable skills include familiarity with modeling, design and analysis software like MatLab, MathCAD, AutoCAD, etc.
Education and experience: Minimum of bachelors in chemistry or chemical engineering with 3-4 years industry experience mostly in chemical process development and scale up; MS or PhD will be preferred; a background in solar cell or silicon nano technology is desirable but not necessary.
